A nurse is fighting for her life in hospital after a stranger who claimed to be possessed allegedly stabbed her in a frenzied attack while she was putting her bins out.
Skye Woodlands, 35, has been put in an induced coma at Townsville Base Hospital in Queensland, after she suffered multiple extensive stab wounds to her chest and arms.
CCTV footage has emerged showing the 40-year-old man who allegedly carried out the attack running the Latchford Street property in Pimlico about 9.20pm on Wednesday.

Two unarmed neighbours chased the alleged attacker (pictured) down the street before he was tackled down at a nearby local park
Police have described the incident as a random attack and confirmed the man and women did not know each other.
'It just seems to me like it was bad timing. As she was putting out her bins, she was randomly attacked,' a police spokesperson said.
Neighbours heard the commotion and saw the alleged male involved in the incident, who was then chased down the street and detained at Gill Park - about one kilometre away.

Neighbours questioned the alleged man about the reasons for his attack.
'And he just said, ''it wasn't me, I was possessed'',' Ms Thimble said.

He was arrested by police shortly after he was tackled down in the local park.
The alleged attacker has been charged with acts intended to cause bodily harm.
The 40-year-old appeared before the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday, and his lawyers did not apply for bail.
Ms Woodland's parents remain by her side as she fights for full recovery in intensive care.
